Parish priest

Michael White Parish priest

I worked in Kingstanding before coming to Tamworth in 2011. Prior to that I worked in youth ministry for 14 years. It’s great to be part of a team sharing the responsibility of doing God’s work. As disciples we need to live out the Gospel together in a radical and joyful way. When not doing that, I enjoy nothing more than riding my bike with friends.

I arrived in December 2022 after working as a priest in India since 2011. I have 1 brother and 2 sisters and I enjoy cooking, badminton and cricket.
Deacon

Bob Charles Deacon

I have been a parishioner for many years with Julie my wife. We have 3 children and 3 grandchildren, all of whom we adore. I am a Deacon in the parish and was ordained in 2018. As well as my ministry in the parish I'm also the prison chaplain at a local prison. When not working I like travelling, watching sport and drinking beer.

Wendy Quinn

I have worked in the parish office for over 25 years and witnessed many changes. Prior to that, I was a Welfare assistant at St Elizabeth’s School, which my 3 children attended. Twelve years ago, I did a degree course in Psychotherapy. So, I now have a private counselling and psychotherapy practice. Outside of that, I love spending time with family and friends, being outside in nature and travelling.

Alex Parker

I moved into the parish in 1976 and have been playing the piano /organ for Masses since 1979. I used to teach in Birmingham but now work as a part-time Evangelisation Fieldworker for the parish since September 2018. This work involves liturgy, catechesis and Evangelisation. I enjoy walking and sharing a meal with family and friends.

Rebecca Arnold

Parish Administrator. As well as working at our Parish office I am studying Counselling at college. I feel this enriches my work here helping our community. In my spare time I love to be with my family and friends.

I am in my 20’s. I grew up in this parish, but I came back to the Church in 2020. It is so good to be back. I work in a secondary school in behaviour management and child welfare. I am now the parish youth worker focussing on our teenagers. In my spare time I like to walk my dogs.
Deacon

Brian Cox Deacon

I am married to Nora and we have two sons. After serving in the army, I worked in various jobs including running a taxi business. I was ordained a deacon in 1992. Since then I have served in this parish, living at Sacred Heart and willing to do whatever is needed. I enjoy watching the football and holidays.

Nora Cox

I was born in Ireland and met Brian in Birmingham. I am a mother and grandmother but have also done care work. Since we moved into Sacred Heart presbytery in the 1990’s, I have developed a role as a full time warden to the Church and community centre, living on site. I enjoy meals with friends and visiting family in Ireland.
